Our Technique :: Activator Methods®

We use one of the most popular low force chiropractic techniques in the world.

Activator Instrument: This hand-held instrument delivers a precise, repeatable force at just the right angle to provide you with the care you need in a comfortable low-force manner. This provides an alternative to the more forceful, manual manipulation that many people have experienced and don't feel comfortable with.
Back Pain

Back Pain

Pain is your body's warning sign that something is wrong. Some people silence their symptoms with pain relievers and ignore what the body is trying to communicate. But that is like removing the battery to quiet a smoke alarm!

Two Common Causes

1. The nerve-rich joints around each spinal bone are a common cause of back pain. The pain can be a sign that these joints are not moving properly. 2.The discs between spinal bones can be a common cause as well. Trauma or wear and tear can cause the soft material in the middle of the disc to bulge or herniate, which applies pressure to the nerves and produces pain.

Your Choices

We have provided pain relief to thousands of people with safe and natural chiropractic care. Your other options are:
  • Ignore it (Spinal problems may get worse over time)
  • Bed rest (This usually prolongs your problem)
  • Medicine (Covers up the problem)
  • Surgery (Although sometimes necessary, can be risky and should be the last resort)

The Chiropractic Approach

Specific chiropractic adjustments can help improve spinal mobility and function. By restoring proper alignment and movement, discs and soft tissues may heal, nerve irritation may be reduced, pain can ease and better stability can return.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Chiropractic techniques that work so well with the spine can be applied to other joints of the body. Virtually every joint is susceptible to restriction and disfunctions that can alter function and reduce range of motion. Trauma, micro-traumas, vibrations and repetitive motions are often culprits.

The Tunnel

The carpal tunnel is a band of ligaments and small bones in your wrist. Painful symptoms can result when nerves are compressed by a collapse of this nerve tunnel.

The Spine

Many are surprised to learn that the cause of their wrist problem may be due to functional changes to one or more joints of the neck, shoulder, elbow or wrist. Nerve Irritation in the upper back and lower neck may compromise the workings of any structure between spine and the tip of your littlest finger!

Other Extremities

Shoulders, hip problems, knees, ankles and even jaw problems have been shown to respond favorably to chiropractic care. Give us a callbefore resorting to more drastic treatments such as surgery!

Chiropractic First

It just makes sense to take the more conservative approach first: chiropractic first, drugs second and surgery last! Schedule a no-obligation consultation and find out what safe and natural chiropractic may do for you.
Headaches

Headaches

Headaches may be common, but they are not normal.

Pain relievers of various types are the most common treatment for headaches. In our practice we take a more natural approach. Our goal is to find and reduce the underlying cause of a headache.

Hidden Cause

Studies suggest that up to 85% of all headaches come from the neck (cervicogenic). This can come when the spinal bones in your neck are misaligned and therefore do not support the head properly. These misalignments affect nerves, muscles and even the blood supply to your head. Our thorough examination detects nerve interference patterns that could be causing your headaches. If this is present, you are likely to benefit from chiropractic care.

While we cant guarantee results, we have a high success rate with patients who get headaches.

Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Your neck is one of the most nerve-rich areas of your spine. Spinal misalignments in the neck can cause problems throughout your body. Your neck and shoulders work hard. Even a small misalignment of the seven bones of your cervical spine (neck) can cause pain and reduced head and neck mobility.

Minor and Major

Generally, we see two types of neck pain cases. Minor neck and shoulder pain involve sensations of discomfort, stiffness or soreness (think I slept funny). If these symptoms persist for more than a few days, if they occur frequently or were preceded by an accident or some type of injury, we consider this to be a major problem.

Response to Stress

Physical, emotional or chemical stress can affect the frequency and severity of neck pain. For many of people, the neck and shoulders are the weakest link in the chain and pain and stress show here frequently. Often, emotional stress is the overlooked culprit. Fear, anger or frustration and stress can trigger the tightening of our neck muscles without even being aware. In time, chronic muscle spasms set in, this can lead to neck pain, headaches, stiffness, etc.
Pinched Nerve

Pinched Nerve

It is called a pinched nerve because that is what it feels like!

There are 24 moving bones in your spine. These bones protect your spinal cord and your nerves while permitting normal movement of your spine. There are pairs of nerves, one on each side, that branch off your spinal cord at each segmental level to service the organs and tissues of your body. When these openings are obstructed, even slightly, your brain can't properly signal and regulate your body. When a spinal bone is misaligned, it can encroach upon these important nerve openings. Nerve irritation can result which can lead to dysfunction and pain.

Our job is to locate these areas of your spine and reduce their impact on your nervous system.

A Precise Movement

A thorough examination helps us identify areas of your spine where spinal bones are stuck and not moving correctly. Then, we give them a precise little movement called a chiropractic adjustment. Your body uses this energy to heal itself as nerve irritation is reduced.
Sciatica

Sciatica

Sciatica can be a debilitating pain that can begin in the lower back and extend down one or both legs. It typically worsens with periods of sitting or standing. The discs between the spinal bones of the lower back are often involved. Trauma can often cause one or more discs to bulge. This irritates nearby nerves, causing pain and inflammation. Coughing, sneezing or other kinds of movement is often painful. If neglected, the nerve irritation extends down one or both legs along the sciatic nerves. The pain appears in the leg, but the culprit is often the lower back!

There is Hope

Fortunately, we have helped hundreds of sciatic cases over the last 20 years.  Improving joint motion in the lower back with a program of chiropractic care has produced great results for many people. It all starts with a consultation and thorough examination. If we think we can help, we  will tell you. If we don't think we can help, we will tell you that as well and refer you to someone we think can.
Slipped disc

Slipped disc

A disc cant slip. But it can wedge, bulge, protrude and herniate. Chiropractic care may help.
The most serious disc problem is a prolapsed disc in which the soft center ruptures and leaks. The disc is a special cartilage between the bones of your spinal column. It attaches to the vertebra above and below it. This creates the separation between spinal bones so pairs of nerves can exit the spine.

Turning and Bending

Each spinal disc has a jelly-like ball bearing core that is contained by bands of fibrous tissue. Healthy discs give you flexibility for normal turning and bending. Improper lifting, slips, falls and car accidents can cause the core to shift: Herniation - disc wedging narrows nerve openings. Obvious symptoms may not be present. Protrusion like a blister, the disc bulges where it is the weakest, causing nerve pressure. Prolapse with the cushioning and separating compromised by rupture, movement is painful.

Chiropractic First

Chiropractic has been a natural solution helping people with a variety of disc problems.
Stress

Stress

Not all stress is bad. A 20-minute workout at the gym for a fit 25-year old is good stress. The same workout for your 75-year old grandmother would likely be bad stress! Instead of fainting or going unconscious, think of a nerve interference as your body's attempt at managing stress.

Physical Stress

Repetitive motions (job requirements), postural distortions (falling asleep on your stomach) and injuries from a car accident are physical stresses. So are slips and falls and even the birth process!

Mental Stress

Besides a trauma or an accident, mental stress is one of the greatest causes of spinal problems! Stress from work, home, family, the world! You may even feel the tension creeping into your shoulders and neck just thinking about it!

Chemical Stress

Our world today is full of chemical stressors. From the food we eat and drink, to the medications we may take, to the air we breathe and a host of other substances can affect our nervous system and muscle tone. When your body reacts by tripping a circuit breaker and causing nerve interference, chiropractic care may help. Stress can't be eliminated, but regular chiropractic care may help you better handle it.
